Making It Pawsible is dedicated to the fulfillment of many goals which lead to the betterment of animals. It is our unshakeable belief that there are no 'lesser' species, only different ones. Equally deserving of love, freedom and basic amenities, our animal friends are also our responsibility. To this end, M.I.P's mission includes-

  • Creating and promoting awareness of animal rights as outlined by law.

  • Educating people about animal care and what constitutes abuse.

  • Periodic adoption drives to ensure street dogs find loving homes.

  • To work with other agencies and the Governent on schemes that support animal welfare.

  • To recruit more people to our cause and work towards establishing an animal-loving culture.

What We Do

Our Current Projects

  • ABC-ARB Sterilization Program

With the Salem Municipal Corporation, the program to sterlize street dogs, known as ABC-ARB, is being undertaken. The dogs are captured humanely without wire chokers and transported to the government shelter in Veeranam. Once there, private veterinary doctors spare their time and effort to perform the procedures. The dogs are kept for 3 days, before being released to the localities they were picked up from.

The cost of each procedure, which includes transport, medicine, food and cleaning fluids comes to Rs.500 per male dog and Rs.700 per female dog.

What we need: Funds for the procedures, 10 by 10 square feet places where vets can operate, vets who are willing to spare their time for a worthy cause.

  • Animal Shelter and Adoption

The shelter houses rescued pups and adult dogs that require care. They are fed and well taken care of.

What we need: The shelter needs to be upgraded to provide better protection from the rain and sun. Basic amentities like plates, bowls, collars, leashes, medicine, grooming products etc. are always in demand.

  • Awareness Campaign

ABCis currently engaged in putting up posters in schools , colleges and public places. The posters serve many purposes, the primary ones being recruitment to our cause and general awareness of animal care.

What we need: Contacts to institutions, clubs, organizations etc. that would allow us to put up posters and/or allow us to address their members.
